The Outpost estate consists of 44 acres (18 hectares) of truly exceptional mountain terroir, located between 1,800 to 2,200 feet above sea level (500 and 700 metres), “above the fog”. Warm mornings drenched in early sunlight followed by cooler afternoon temperatures and consistent
breezes provide an environment for wines that is truly unique within the Napa Valley.

The vineyard is divided into three plots. The Estate Vineyard, surrounding the property, is just under 19-acres (8 hectares) planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel and Grenache.
Our 9-acre (3.6 hectares) True Vineyard located just a few hundred feet below the Estate property is composed of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc.
A new development added in 2021, will provide 16-acres (6.5 hectares) of additional vines and has been meticulously replanted to match the exact clones and rootstock that we know best.

Grapes from each block within the vineyard are fermented separately so that our winemaking team can be very selective about the lots that comprise the final blend.
Our goal is to produce fruit of exceptional intensity and richness, with the distinctive spicy character, unique to our terroir, that is a particular characteristic of the wines of Outpost.

In order to establish a sustainable balance within the vineyard, the team at Outpost has implemented agroecological practices aimed at regenerating the soil, promoting biodiversity and preserving the ecosystem.
